Julie is a terrific music therapist Ben got to know when she would come into his classroom at school to do a session. He loved it. Since he graduated out of school and into adult services, we’ve hired Julie to do an individual session with him every week, and on the rare occasion when we’re in town on a weekday, we try to arrange his session to be at our apartment — so we can watch! What a joy.

I always wanted to be a music therapist. I considered a degree in it. But I am not that much into practicing, so the degree just wasn’t in the works for me. I do have a degree in special ed. , though. This is an AWESOME picture! Love it. Music is so, so important. Are you familiar with Dr. Stephen Shore? He’s a music professor who has high-functioning autism. Inspiring man.
